What we collect
The specific information Catchup asks for, what happens if you do not provide it, and who helps us process it.
Who is collecting the information?
Catchup is an independently operated study-planning service based in the Australian Capital Territory. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to privacy@jackbmc.com.
Collection at a glance
| Information | Why it is collected | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Name | To identify and personalise your account. | Required for setup; it does not need to be your legal name. |
| Email and password | To create, secure and recover your account. | Required for an account. Supabase handles authentication credentials. |
| Timetable subscription URL | To retrieve and refresh calendar events. | Required only if you want timetable planning. |
| Timetable events and mapping choices | To label courses, class types, times and locations correctly and build priorities. | Required only for timetable features. |
| Assessments and notes | To show deadlines and completion progress. | Optional. |
| Session and request data | To keep you signed in, maintain security and diagnose errors. | Essential technical processing. |
| Pseudonymous product events | To measure signups, onboarding, feature use and retention without sending content you enter. | Collected when an account uses the service; no analytics cookie or session recording is used. |
Where the information comes from
Account details, assessment information and the subscription URL come directly from you. Calendar event information comes from the timetable endpoint you choose to connect. Catchup does not ask your university to provide a student record and is not affiliated with your education provider.
If you do not provide it
You can read the public legal pages without an account. Without account credentials, Catchup cannot save a private plan. Without a timetable URL, timetable import and prioritisation will not work, but other available account features may still be used. Optional assessment notes can be left blank.
Usual disclosures and overseas processing
Information is processed by Supabase for authentication and database hosting, by PostHog for pseudonymous product analytics, by Catchup’s hosting/network providers, and by the timetable server when Catchup retrieves the URL you supplied. These providers may operate outside Australia. Catchup does not currently disclose personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
Your choices and rights
You can update planner information in the app and ask to access, correct or delete other information by emailing privacy@jackbmc.com. Read the full Privacy Policy for retention, security and complaint information.
